boy band vs k-pop vs mpop

what? come again? max 247? gula-gula?

well, don't put a blame on them. the only mistake they make was that, with their own tagline -

"the 1st ever k-pop group in Malaysia"

first of all, as we can see, most of k-pop artistes can be categorized as boy bands - with the definition of the boy band itself:

Mostly, boy band members do not play any musical instruments.They only sing and dance.

so, 

Super Junior

2PM

Big Bang

U-Kiss

they are all boy bands. and yes, the are all under a label, K-Pop - Korean Pop/Korean Popular Music

and if u still remember, in 1990's,  it was the time of boy band phenomena.

Backstreet Boys

N'Sync

back then, in Malaysia...ever heard of GT Boyz? 

 those boy group in 90's. they were also boy band.

 till now, we still have KRU - another Malaysia's famous boy band.

 they bring out are the same type of music

and not to forget, our own very famous girl group

ELITE 

and compared them to 

GULA-GULA

the conclusion i can make here is that, they are promoting themselves in a wrong way, copying those boy bands from Korea. it was totally a super-massive mistake. 

M-Pop is a way much better for them.
